# Yape Points

Points serve as the internal utility metric earned by completing validated engagements (comments, retweets, quotes) with other users. This accrued value acts as a spendable resource that must be allocated to your own content to power its visibility and duration within the Smart Feed.

* Quote Retweet: 1000 points
* Retweet: 800 points
* Comment (reply): 500 points

```
Points = Base Action * Your Multiplier
```

*Example: An user with x2 multiplier making a Quote earns 2000 points*

Points are used to "fuel" your own posts. When you submit a post, you allocate points to it. These points set how long your post stays in the feed of other users.

#### Two Balances Points System

To separate "Spending" points from "Ranking" points used for the Leaderboard, Yape uses two balances:

1. Promotion Balance (Spendable):
   * These are the points you earn daily.
   * You spend them to push your content into the Smart Feed.
   * If you stop engaging, this balance dries up, and you can't post.
2. Reputation Balance (Ranking):
   * This tracks your Total Lifetime Points.
   * It never decreases when you spend points on promotion.
   * This balance determines your position on the Yape Club Leaderboard.
